A renovation on many levels
This large garden renovation started with the removal of the existing kidney shaped pool that sat 1 m out of the ground on two sides. The proposed location of the new pool and spa required extensive formwork and piers to be used to support the new pool and surrounding landscape works. A custom designed plant room was constructed to house the pool equipment and was placed discretely behind the newly built alfresco dining area. All views across the extensive landscaping to the surrounding hills are harmoniously framed by the judicious placement of screening trees to all boundaries. The landscaping features a number of surface treatments that blend seamlessly as functional and aesthetic requirements vary across the available space. The synthetic turf is framed by a 250mm paving border that signals the start of generous plantings sympathetic to the period of the home. This Falcon Pool with its’ raised spa are fully tiled in Cotto ceramic tiles with a combination of glass timber and fencing that is arranged in a way that brings the pool closer to the home whilst still framing its boundaries. A significant heritage oak tree was protected throughout the works and has been further enhanced by the judicious use of timber decking near to it. The upper outdoor dining area provides vistas across the property and the lush under-planting provides a transition to the areas designed for active play.
